St. John's Institute Sports Pavilion

A new, iconic sports and events venue at the heart of the school’s new North Point Campus in Talisay City, Negros Occidental totaling up to 1,800 square meters of floor area, the Sports Pavilion is one important piece of the St. John’s Institute North Point Campus Masterplan, and the first in the group of brand new buildings to be built as part of a comprehensive development cycle. The new Sports Pavilion, as one of its focus, is on Huaming’s significant basketball program and is a metaphorical church of sorts through its Queen of Peace inspired aesthetic in celebrating athletic excellence. The inside can be likened as a nest-like structure of the Johnian falcon, sweeping upward gracefully in flight, being a celebration of how Johnians have always closely intertwined their athletic endeavors closely with their Catholic life, and it expresses itself as almost like a religious structure that calls to mind gothic churches of a modern interpretation.
