Visita Malabon

Visita Malabon Resort

Creating an architecture specific to its time and place, Visita Malabon takes reference to the city of Malabon itself, from the etymological source of its very name 'Malabon' which came from the phrase 'maraming labong' or plenty of bamboo. Originally a visita or small settlement of Tondo in the Spanish colonial era, Malabon in its original natural landscape, once abounded with the edible roots of bamboo shoots, thus its current name today. In inspiration of this historical fact, the architecture takes expression of this forgotten symbol of the city to create architecture that's spiritually referential to the city of Malabon. Visita Malabon is an iconic, modernist interpretation of FIlipino vernacular architecture in its forms and building elements that expressly mimicks the forgotten image of the bamboo shoot which once dotted the greenery of native Malabon.
